A new post...finally!

With Valentine's Day approaching, I thought what better time to start spreading the "love"?! I cannot believe how long it has been since I updated our blog (super sad face). As you can imagine, so much has happened over the past year and a half! Where oh where do i start?

Right now Isobel is 3 and Evan is 1...but they soon will be having birthdays again. In just a few months we will have a 2 and 4 year old! How did this happen? Evan is growing so fast, and talking too! She never really had an interest in talking much as a baby, so we have been completely surprised by how much she is saying. She is so funny, her favorite thing to say, no matter what the question, is "yes". A nice change from all the "no's" I get from Isobel :) Isobel is in preschool here in Kearney. She loves it!! She has a big class with about 18 kids. Her favorite things for a while have been dinosaurs and super heroes, but right now she is OBSESSED with Toy Story. We've only seen the third one though. I guess I should get the other ones so we can know the back story, but that might be a little confusing for her! She doesn't want to be "pretty" or anything that has to do with a girl. She calls herself "big boy dragon". She is such a character. She already told me she wants a Woody and Buzz cake for her birthday. When I told her that we would have hers and Evan's birthday party the same day, she wasn't too thrilled. I'm hoping when the time comes they will love it anyway!

Evan is a HUGE eater and loves everything Isobel doesn't. These two girls are so different...in every way. Isobel loves to eat lots of fruits and veggies and Evan likes bread, bread and more bread...oh and cheese too :) Evan never stops moving for more than about 2 seconds. She runs and runs all day long...but when it's time to sleep, she goes down hard! Isobel doesn't sleep very well, and she is more likely to sit with her toys in one spot for an hour. They have made our life so amazing! I have to admit though, raising two kids has really thrown me for a loop! They totally wear me out. At the end of the day, no matter how exhausted or frustrated we are, we talk and laugh about how funny they were!

We still have Mitchell, our shih tzu, and now we also have Penny. She is a persian cat and she's about 8 months old. The two get along so incredibly well! Nap time for the kids, also means nap time for the pets. Yesterday they curled up, practically on top of each other, and had a little rest. Penny is my shadow! We are so pleased at how social and loving and playful she is, especially with the girls. She is completely unphased by any of their craziness, even all of their talking and moving toys. In fact, she loves to play with kids. Isobel's pom pom's have become one of her favorite things :)

Courtney is still working for Elanco, an animal medicine pharmaceutical company. I am so proud to announce that he received a promotion this year! He is currently a national accounts rep. I am so proud of him and his hard work, and all that he accomplishes. He also built a barn last year. It is so beautiful...his talent never ceases to amaze me! His little girls adore him. It's a little hard on them when he has to travel for work, but when he comes home, he has two little people pulling on his pant leg for about a week! I am so thankful they have such a loving and fun father!

As for me, not a lot of news to report...thank goodness! I'm relieved to have nothing unusual going on. I have finally adjusted to life in the country. I absolutely love it here and would never want to live anywhere else. I've made a lot of wonderful friends. Isobel's preschool is full of wonderful people, including my awesome bestie, Ann...who believe it or not, lives right up the street! When you live in the country, that's a miracle! We are loving life right now, sometimes I cannot believe all that we have done as a little family in such a short time.

I will try to post more often and updated pictures WILL be coming. I am having a hard time with this page for some reason. I can't get my template to work...so hopefully I can get that figured out. Thank you if you actually read this post to the end!! The next one will be shorter, I assure you :)
